Fine wines and great fun...

at St Anthony's Parish...
Once again the Knights of Saint Thomas More are pleased to offer their very popular fund-raising, wine tasting and barbecue evening at St Anthony’s. And, happily, we are able to welcome back our good friend Miguel (Mig) Saelens.
You will probably remember Mig as the eponymous creator and owner of the wonderful "Mig's World Wines" which has supported our event for over 20 years. Although no longer the owner of the wine shop, Mig is still active in the business and continuing the support. This year, he will be introducing us to some of his favourite wines from South Africa.
With a wonderfully diverse climate, a wide range of grape varieties and a rich history of winemaking dating back to the 17th Century, South Africa has become one of the most exciting wine producing regions in the world. Its "winelands," are also reputed to be among the most beautiful, with dramatic landscapes marked by mountains that jut up seemingly out of nowhere and rugged coastlines.
You can look forward to a fun evening, tasting and learning about the wines and the region; and maybe even winning prizes in our charity tombola.
After sampling some wines, you are going to be ready for some food, so our Knights will be busy on the 'braai' grilling some delicious steaks for your dinner - to be enjoyed with another glass of wine, perhaps!
The proceeds from the evening are to be used by the Knights to support our chosen charity - the Thari Trust. We have been working with the Thari Trust for several years already supporting their community school-building work in Lesotho. So your generosity is much appreciated.
